minDistance?: number | null;

Metres. While no document layer and no limits call sets minDistance or maxDistance, the runtime fits both to the role 'product' bounds at every commit that changes those bounds: min = max(0.1, 0.7 × the largest extent), max = 10 × it, as 1.x's adaptive zoom limits. Setting either one turns the fit off; the other is then 1.x's default (0.5 m, 50 m) unless set.
