Metres. While no document layer and no `limits` call sets `minDistance` or [`maxDistance`](CameraLimits.maxDistance.md), the
runtime fits both to the role 'product' bounds at every commit that changes those bounds:
min = max(0.1, 0.7 × the largest extent), max = 10 × it, as 1.x's adaptive zoom limits.
Setting either one turns the fit off; the other is then 1.x's default (0.5 m, 50 m) unless set.

**Default:** unchanged (the document's, else fitted to the product bounds)
