Property of [`FrameOptions`](FrameOptions.md) · stable · since 2.0.0

```ts
phase?: 'update' | 'late';
```

'update': before animations and the camera. 'late': after both, before drawing; reads are this frame's. A write that depends on the camera (a cut-away, a part turned to the viewer) uses 'late': in 'update', [`camera.state`](Camera.state.md) and [`camera.project`](Camera.project.md) are the last drawn frame's, one frame behind while the camera moves.

**Default:** 'update'
